“We All Have a Disability, Don’t Let it Be the End of the Story”a quote from my Guest Katie Terry on The Grapevine at Latter-Day Woman.

In an article written in the Deseret News, Amy Donaldson wrote that “Terry didn’t know what her future would hold when a car accident nearly nine years ago paralyzed her from the waist down. Just after learning she would never walk again, doctors told her she was pregnant with her daughter.”

Katie Terry had a life altering challenge none of us could imagine. Spending some time chatting with Katie I found a woman of faith courage and beaming with the mind-set to “approach everything with the right attitude because IT’S ALL MENTAL.” Katie pours out her heart on the importance of enduring the dark times to find the light on the other side. There is a purpose in everything, she assures, and her increased relationship with her Heavenly Father and Jesus are testimony to everyone she comes in contact with that “anything is possible”.

Katie took her collegiate athlete background and pushed through barriers put in her place and started checking off things on her bucket list. It was from this list she discovered her passion for hand cycling. After being the first women hand cycler to finish the St. George marathon she qualified the next year to race the Boston Marathon.
