A Heroic Story of Recovery from Addiction

I am the woman down the street, You call me Super Girl, you wish you were me, it may  appear I have it all, and I am the vision of all your dreams and wishes coming true but if you only knew, that I just want to fly away from here, away from all the tears and the insanity.  Find me, I’m far away from home.  Remind me of the girl I used to be.  Restore me.”

These are the lyrics to a beautiful song written by Rachelle Call on her new album focusing on Recovery.

At a Christian retreat that Rachelle was led to she recounts her experience as follows, “I began to breathe this experience into my soul and I allowed the Christian music to travel through my spirit and correct the lies I had believed about God and my Christian brothers and sisters. I knew God had led me to this place to be healed and I was deeply grateful for this first taste of freedom. I would need it to get through the next five years.”

Rachelle Call is a wife and mother as well as a fabulous singer song writer.  Rachelle Call was raised in an LDS family and followed the checklist so many of us have in our mind when we grow up in our culture.  Marry my missionary (check) go to BYU (check) put husband through school (check) have baby (check).  This all seemed like a great idea except there seemed to be something missing from Rachelle’s life.  She felt empty and blamed everything around her for the unhappiness that she was experiencing.  When she faced her darkest moments and finally surrendered herself to God, she found herself and “recovery. the music.  ” was born.

As she waded through the uncertainty of her life dealing with her husband’s addiction to pornography and her own addiction to keeping up the appearances of the perfect family, she found that if she would just “Jump into the Light and go forward”, her Father would surround her and lead her to her purpose and the path meant for her.  When she stopped focusing on the addiction and the lower energy that surrounded that and centered her life on healing and love, the pieces all came together.  Rachelle teaches others about raising their awareness to their own addictions so that they can release the victim mentality and embrace their own inner awareness of self love through the 12 steps she sings about on her album “Recovery”.  She also inspires others to connect with EVERYONE around you and let go of any judgments you have in the name of love and acceptance.   You absolutely must visit her website and read her story of inspiration.   www.rachellecall.com
