Heather Carson –- Latter-Day Woman™ Advisor
I love to create. My memories of childhood are filled with making things. I was always working on some sort of project – and then sometimes trying to sell them to my poor neighbors.
When I finally found the career of Design during college, I couldn’t get enough. Many of my peers specialized in a certain area but I couldn’t pick and went with the degree that let me do as many things as I could. I got a BA in Design and got to play around with industrial design, photography, illustration, interior design and graphic design.
Since leaving school I have worked most of the time in graphic design – for other design companies and now on my own. I have done projects in the other disciplines as well. I am a serial entrepreneur and love to create logos, branding, and business identity materials. But I can’t stay away from anything creative for too long. Since having a family I added sewing, crocheting, and general mess making to my list of creative adventures. I could spend hours in the art store deciding which supply or technique to try out next.
I have a passion for vintage goods, simple design, and love to re-mix old stuff into new things. I love giving thrifted things new life. I am a mom to six kids, a wife, and work from my home studio along side my kids who love to make art messes as much as I do.
I am happy to be a part Latter Day Woman™. I like the opportunities it provides LDS women to reach across the world and celebrate our unique differences while also enabling us to see ourselves in each other.

Alexis Tanner –- Advertising Manager
My name is Alexis Tanner and I am the new Advertising Manager for Latter Day Woman Magazine! I just became a stay at home mom with my first baby due at the end of February. My husband and I met in a Single’s Ward at BYU where I graduated with a BS in Elementary Education. I grew up in Southern California and the beach will always be a huge part of me. My goal is to get back there every year. We currently live in Utah so my husband can finish school and then we’ll go wherever he gets in to Physical Therapy school – we’re hoping the University of Utah which may be a little hard at first for our die hard true blue BYU family. I love blogging, digital scrapbooking, reading, playing pretty much any sport, the sunshine, being with my family, spending time with friends, and of course working for this magazine!

Kate Lowe –- Advertising Representative
In High School, I studied and found one of my passions, American Sign Language. This gave me an opportunity to live in Ghana, Africa for a month while teaching at a deaf school. I attended Brigham Young University-Idaho where I discovered an opportunity to go work as a Character Performer at Walt Disney World for a semester. Through talking to several friends about the Gospel in Florida, I met Peter who is now my husband, who was serving a mission at that time.
I am blessed to be a stay-at-home-mom, and love being able to spend so much time with my little boy. Our little family of five ( which includes two dogs) lives in Utah where we enjoy spending time in the outdoors, cooking, doing yard projects, do-it-yourself-projects, visiting family and trying new things. Some of my hobbies include, sewing, running, cooking healthy -and unhealthy on occasion, organizing, blogging/journaling and most of all, learning new things.
